As Project Manager / Project Sponsor for Large Projects Heavy Civil, plan, develop, coordinate, and manage onsite construction engineering activities for extensive DOT projects. Provide overall management direction to ensure projects are built on schedule, within budget, and to highest quality standards. Identify and pursue new business opportunities.

Interface with internal teams, external stakeholders, customers, joint-venture partners, and subcontractors to resolve problems and facilitate construction activities. Oversee budgets, job costing, and monthly project cost reports with Area and Division Managers. Represent WW Clyde in project meetings and labor negotiations.

Monitor construction through on-site Superintendents, ensuring adherence to schedules, budgets, safety, and environmental regulations. Leverage experience with Alternative Delivery projects to enhance execution. This position is designed for progression into broader leadership roles within the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
  • A minimum of 10 years of heavy civil large project experience is preferred, with at least 5 years in Large Construction Project Management
  • In-depth knowledge of construction equipment, techniques, drawings & specifications, building materials, and industry standards
  • Strong grasp of technology and construction software is essential
  • Superior communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability to assume responsibility and meet deadlines
  • Must be willing and able to travel as required by project locations
  • Leverage experience with Alternative Delivery projects

Responsibilities

  • Establish project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards in line with the project management guide
  • Interface with internal teams and external stakeholders to resolve problems and ensure construction quality
  • Oversee budgets and adjusted job costing; prepare and organize monthly project cost reports for review with Area and Division Managers
  • Plan, organize, and staff key field positions through regional department heads
  • Monitor and control construction through administrative direction of on-site Superintendents, ensuring adherence to project schedules and budgets
  • Maintain active liaison with customers, joint-venture partners, subcontractors, and others to facilitate construction activities
  • Represent WW Clyde in project meetings and labor negotiations/strategy meetings
  • Identify potentially serious situations and implement corrective measures promptly; ensure compliance with all safety and environmental regulations
