About this role

Hyde is looking for an experienced Bricklayer - Groundworker to join our busy Property Maintenance team. You’ll be working in our homes carrying out day-to-day repairs and maintenance. You’ll be trusted to get jobs done right first time and to treat our customers with respect in their homes.

If you’re a hands-on tradesperson who can turn their hand to a range of jobs and takes pride in doing things properly, we’d like to hear from you. Carrying out multi-trade repairs including carpentry, plumbing, plastering and general maintenance. Erecting and repairing fencing and gates, repairing concrete floors, and addressing issues in garden areas.

Always working safely and following Hyde’s health and safety procedures. Providing a professional, friendly service to customers in their homes. Following work orders and reporting back on progress and materials used.

Requirements

Solid experience across multiple trades, especially carpentry, plumbing and plastering
Confident using hand and power tools
Able to work independently and manage your own workload
A practical problem-solver who can spot issues and fix them properly
Physically fit and happy with hands-on work
A full, valid UK driving licence
Experience working in social housing is a bonus
Knowledge of trade-specific techniques, materials, and safety protocols

Responsibilities

Carry out multi-trade repairs including carpentry, plumbing, plastering and general maintenance
Erect and repair fencing and gates, repair concrete floors, and address issues in garden areas
Repoint old or damaged mortar joints, replace broken bricks/blocks, and repair walls, chimneys, and structural features
Excavate, repair, and re-install drainage systems, flag (paving), and edge paths and driveways
Follow work orders and report back on progress and materials used
Always work safely and follow Hyde’s health and safety procedures
Provide a professional, friendly service to customers in their homes
