About this role
We are on the lookout for a Skilled Operative - Bricklayer to join our expanding team in Wigan. This permanent role is ideal if you have varied experience within the Construction or Civil Engineering sector. We'd love to hear from you if you meet our criteria.
Responsibilities include working in a proper manner following appropriate procedures and instructions while using tools and equipment safely. Undertake manual labour such as loading and unloading vehicles, cleaning, maintenance, digging, lifting, pulling, and relevant specialist trades like bricklaying. Cooperate with the Site Supervisor or General Foreman to avoid risks to yourself or others.
Correctly use and maintain provided PPE, requesting improvements where safety standards could be enhanced. Ensure vehicles, materials, tools, and plant under your control are fit for use, reporting defects promptly. Discuss work aspects with supervisors if unsure or if safety can be improved, while mentoring General Operatives.

Requirements
- NVQ 3 Bricklaying - Essential
- Civil experience - Essential
- PTS - Desirable
- Varied experience within Construction or Civil Engineering sector
- Competency in specialist trades such as bricklaying through training and experience
- Ability to perform manual labour tasks on construction sites

- Undertake manual labour including loading/unloading vehicles, cleaning, maintenance, digging, lifting, pulling, and specialist bricklaying trades
- Correctly use and maintain provided PPE and request safety improvements
- Ensure vehicles, materials, tools, and plant are fit for use and report defects
- Mentor General Operatives and inexperienced staff in work tasks
- Assist with site administration paperwork for submissions to Head Office
