About this role

Site Manager needed to work both short- and long-term projects on 12 U.S. military installations in the State of Hawaii as part of USACE Programs. The role focuses on capitalized fueling systems at DoD facilities across Oahu, Kauai, and Hawaii Island.

Daily work involves recurring maintenance inspections and repairs including calibration, testing, and operation of valves and fueling equipment. The Site Manager applies working knowledge of fueling systems and exercises judgment when assessing equipment conditions for long-term operation.

Responsibilities include on-site quality control, troubleshooting service orders, and implementing the health and safety program in line with EM 385-1-1. The position requires managing subcontractors, conducting safety meetings, and coordinating concurrent work orders with facility managers.

The role operates within a close-knit maintenance team alongside other APTIM groups handling high-profile projects. Considerable field time includes walking, kneeling, work at heights, and confined-space conditions while gathering data for the Project Manager and Engineer.

Requirements

  • Candidate must have 5 years fueling system experience or equivalent including piping, mechanical work, fueling upgrades, tank work, coatings, inspections, and repairs.
  • Experience working on fueling systems in Hawaii or similar environments desired.
  • Must have a strong safety background and focus with familiarity with EM 385-1-1 helpful.
  • Familiarity with UFGS, UFC, ASME Codes, API, and other standards would be extremely helpful.
  • Must be able to pass background checks for military base access; current or past security clearance or military access a bonus.
  • Possess capacity for critical thinking to provide solutions for operational problems critical to supporting mission readiness.

Responsibilities

  • Directly responsible for performing recurring maintenance on military fueling systems including calibration, testing, and operation of valves and fueling equipment.
  • Responsible for on-site quality control and troubleshooting of technically complex service orders following the Contract Performance Work Statement.
  • Responsible for implementation of on-site health and safety program ensuring safety regulations and site-specific project plans are followed.
  • Conduct onsite briefings, safety tailgate meetings, and out-briefs with facility managers and subcontractors while verifying subcontractor compliance.
  • Manage and schedule various subcontractors to execute multiple work orders including concurrent execution.
  • Gather field data required for routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs and provide data to the Project Manager, Engineer(s), and Maintenance Manager.
  • Manage electronic data using program software to ensure systems operate properly and deficiencies are reported quickly.
