About this role

We are on the lookout for a Skilled Operative - Bricklayer to join our expanding team in Wigan. This permanent role suits those with varied experience within the Construction or Civil Engineering sector. We'd love to hear from you if you have the right background.

Responsibilities include working in a proper manner following appropriate procedures and instructions while using tools and equipment safely. Undertake manual labour such as loading and unloading vehicles, digging, lifting, pulling, and relevant specialist trades like bricklaying. Cooperate with Site Supervisor and General Foreman to avoid risks to yourself or others.

Correctly use and maintain PPE provided, requesting improvements where safety standards could be enhanced. Ensure vehicles, materials, tools, and plant under your control are fit for use, reporting defects promptly. Discuss all aspects of work with supervisors if unsure or if safety can be improved.

Mentor General Operatives and inexperienced staff in tasks while contributing to site administration with paperwork. Enjoy a collaborative working culture focused on investing in people. Benefit from excellent training and development by our award-nominated in-house team.

Requirements

  • NVQ Level 3 Bricklaying
  • Civil engineering experience
  • Varied experience in Construction sector
  • Competency gained through training and experience in construction trades
  • Ability to perform specialist trades like bricklaying as directed
  • PTS (desirable)

Responsibilities

  • Work safely following procedures and instructions, using all tools and equipment properly
  • Cooperate with and follow directions from Site Supervisor / General Foreman to avoid risks
  • Undertake manual labour including loading/unloading vehicles, digging, lifting, and bricklaying tasks
  • Correctly use and maintain provided PPE, requesting safety improvements as needed
  • Ensure tools, plant, equipment, and materials are fit for use and report defects
  • Discuss work aspects with Site Supervisor / General Foreman for safety enhancements
  • Mentor General Operatives and inexperienced staff in work tasks
  • Assist with site administration paperwork for daily and weekly submissions
