About this role
The Senior Commercial Manager works accountably alongside Design & Delivery and Commercial functions to support whole-life data center construction projects and their commercial management lifecycle. This role partners with contractors and suppliers to achieve appropriate and responsible outcomes. It ensures auditable rigor in tender, contract, and ongoing cost management for project success.
Day-to-day involves producing and maintaining detailed budget and financial estimates to inform accurate financial forecasting. Responsibilities include reconciling cost projections against the design brief and identifying variances early with stakeholders. The role monitors supplier tender processes for transparency and maintains tender documentation accuracy.
Working site-based in Amsterdam, the role requires 3-4 days on site and local residency with right to work in the Netherlands. It collaborates closely with internal teams to review lifecycle suitability, protecting Pure's, customers', and contractors' interests. Ongoing review ensures robust tender processes and proactive risk mitigation.
This position drives effective cost exposure management throughout the project lifecycle to budget completion. It involves adjudicating contractor claims for timely cashflow and negotiating final accounts. Opportunities exist to refine contractual documents and procurement frameworks for sustained accuracy.
Requirements
- Experience managing commercial aspects of data center construction projects
- Proficiency in tender processes, procurement frameworks, and supplier evaluation
- Expertise in construction cost forecasting, budgeting, and financial reconciliation
- Knowledge of contract lifecycle management and cost variation control
- Skills in reviewing design information for accurate tender pricing
- Ability to negotiate contracts and final accounts in construction
- Understanding of project risk mitigation for time and cost overruns
Responsibilities
