About this role

BAM UK & Ireland's Infrastructure Segment is seeking an enthusiastic M&E Site Manager to join the Eastern Green Link 2 (EGL2) project team. This major initiative involves constructing a 525kV, 2GW HVDC subsea and underground onshore transmission link with two convertor stations at Peterhead, Scotland and Drax, North Yorkshire.

In this role, you will support the M&E Management team, supervise subcontractors, and ensure safe, timely, and quality delivery of works. Day-to-day tasks include maintaining accurate site records, coordinating M&E activities with other trades, monitoring progress against programme, and reviewing contractors' RAMS before work commences.

BAM operates a flexible working policy, and you will work within a supportive team dedicated to delivering critical infrastructure. The project will transport green energy from Scotland to other parts of the UK, powering around two million homes once completed.

Requirements

  • 5–10 years’ experience in Building Services / MEP projects, preferably >£20M value
  • Technical qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering
  • SMSTS and CSCS card holder
  • Strong knowledge of UK building regulations and industry standards (e.g. IET Wiring Regulations BS 7671 – 18th Edition)
  • Inspection & Testing Qualifications City & Guilds 2391
  • Ability to read and interpret technical and construction drawings
  • Experience managing subcontractors and coordinating multi-disciplinary teams
  • Proven track record of delivering M&E works on large-scale projects

Responsibilities

  • Support the M&E Management team and provide M&E advice to the wider project team
  • Manage and supervise M&E subcontractors to ensure safe, timely, and quality delivery of works
  • Maintain accurate site records, including diaries, progress reports, and QA documentation
  • Coordinate M&E activities with other trades to ensure efficient integration and sequencing
  • Monitor progress against programme and escalate delays, risks, and opportunities
  • Review and approve M&E Contractors' RAMS before their work commences on site
  • Promote and enforce a strong health & safety culture in line with RAMS and site procedures
  • Lead QA/QC inspections, walkdowns, and manage snagging and defect close-out
