About this role
Within the Onshore Construction Europe department of RWE Renewables, under the lead of the Construction Lead Manager, the Junior Project Manager Construction contributes to the successful completion of Solar PV projects, possibly including storage and battery, in Greece. This role supports project governance and status reporting. It ensures projects meet specifications and timelines effectively.
Day-to-day involves supporting the appointed Project Manager on monitoring profit and loss performance through cost reports and analyses to reduce costs while maintaining productivity and schedule. Conducting weekly project inspections supervises work progress, quality, and safety conditions. Managing contracts includes checking invoices, notifications, and claims with partners, engineers, suppliers, and subcontractors.
The role maintains adherence to company and regulatory processes, national and local codes, and Health, Safety, and Environmental obligations. Appropriate communication levels are ensured with internal and external stakeholders. Collaboration occurs within a team-focused environment requiring interpersonal skills.
Opportunities include supporting punch list completion and operations until final acceptance. Travel up to 60-70% or relocation near project areas builds site experience. Analytical drive and technical knowledge in Solar PV assets enhance project delivery under pressure.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in engineering and 2-3 years of experience within construction, including some site working, ideally with project engineering or management experience
- Knowledge in project management as well as sound technical knowledge about Solar PV assets or electrical systems such as substations, transformers, inverters
- Very good analytical skills coupled with drive to execute and deliver projects
- Excellent team-player with very good interpersonal and communication skills; Greek speaker with fluent professional English required; additional European language an advantage
- Willingness to travel on a regular basis up to 60-70% or relocate near the project area
- Self-motivated independent professional with excellent communication skills, strong technical attitude and ability to thrive under pressure within a team
- Proactive self-starter highly motivated focused on high-level work under changing priorities and deadlines
- MS Office tools regular user including MS Project
Responsibilities
- Support appointed Project Manager Construction on orchestrating the whole project governance and ensuring regular status reporting both weekly and monthly
- Monitor profit & loss performance of the projects through cost reports and perform analyses to assist in reducing costs while maintaining productivity and schedule
- Conduct weekly project inspections and supervise work progress, quality of work and safety conditions
- Support appointed Project Manager Construction and Contract Manager on managing contracts including checking invoices, notifications and claims with partners, engineers, suppliers and subcontractors
- Continually monitor projects to assure adherence to company and regulatory processes and procedures
- Ensure projects comply with all national and local codes and requirements
- Ensure projects comply with Health, Safety and Environmental obligations
- Support Project Manager Construction on completion of works listed in the Punch List and Operations for construction contracts until final acceptance
