The Senior Commissioning Construction Manager I serves as the owner’s and/or contractor’s representative throughout all phases of the commissioning process (L1–L5). This role combines deep technical knowledge with advanced coordination and leadership across mechanical, electrical, and controls commissioning for mission-critical environments.
As a senior technical leader, translate client and organizational goals into commissioning strategies and tactical execution plans across multiple projects. Provide subject matter expertise in mission-critical system readiness and advise clients and leadership on operational optimization and program performance. Work self-directed on day-to-day tasks while receiving high-level instruction on new complex projects.
Lead multi-disciplinary teams through commissioning phases on one or more concurrent projects with 75–100% travel across the U.S. Serve as on-site representative ensuring adherence to commissioning standards, QA/QC plans, and schedules. Represent clients in contractor and vendor meetings while driving proactive issue resolution.
Mentor and develop junior commissioning staff and field engineers, fostering accountability, safety, and continuous improvement. Requirements
- Deep technical knowledge in mechanical, electrical, and controls commissioning for mission-critical environments
- Advanced coordination and leadership skills across multi-disciplinary commissioning teams
- Experience serving as owner’s and/or contractor’s representative throughout commissioning process (L1–L5)
- Ability to execute and lead teams on projects, tasks, or assignments of complex scope
- Proven judgment in anticipating and resolving complex issues in construction settings
- Self-directed with capability to coordinate activities of other personnel
- Located near a major U.S. airport with availability for 75–100% domestic travel
Responsibilities

- Represent the client in contractor and vendor meetings, enforcing commissioning deliverables and performance criteria
- Direct and coordinate all levels of commissioning activities—pre-functional, functional, integrated systems testing, and acceptance
- Validate that field activities meet commissioning requirements for mechanical, electrical, and controls systems
